Youngpool Technology (YOUNGPOOL) has recently completed the installation and commissioning of an N-800A Vacuum Degassing Machine at the plant of a European electronics manufacturing services (EMS) provider. The machine has been verified against the customer's parameters and released for production. It is used primarily for bubble control in the adhesive layer after dispensing and coating, so that the customer can meet its end customers' acceptance requirements for adhesive quality.

The customer is based in Europe and provides electronics manufacturing, testing and engineering services. As end customers raise reliability requirements, acceptance criteria for bubbles inside the adhesive layer have become more specific, while the margin left in the existing process has narrowed — a constraint on further process capability. After evaluating several options, the customer selected an inline vacuum degassing system as a process complement.

In dispensing and coating, bubbles in PCBs come from more than one source: air entrained in the adhesive during storage and refilling, and air drawn in again as the adhesive spreads across the board and flows around components and vias. Once encapsulated by the cured adhesive, a bubble becomes a permanent void inside the adhesive layer, expanding and contracting through thermal cycles. It can lead to delamination and micro-cracks, and it reduces the insulation and protection performance of the layer. This is why automotive electronics, industrial control and similar applications set strict limits on bubbles.

The N-800A Vacuum Degassing Machine is installed after dispensing or coating and before curing. It applies a controlled vacuum to the coated PCB, so that bubbles inside the adhesive expand, coalesce and are released under differential pressure; the board then moves directly into curing, with no window for bubbles to re-form in between. The machine uses an inline design that fits the existing line takt. A single-track, single-chamber structure processes each board individually, avoiding uneven treatment when several boards share one chamber. Vacuum level and dwell time can be set separately for each adhesive system and board type. Boards up to 500 × 500 mm can be handled.

After reviewing the degassing principle and the inline configuration, the customer moved quickly to a purchasing decision, describing the investment as part of its ongoing commitment to production technology. Following delivery, Youngpool Technology completed installation and commissioning and carried out parameter verification with the customer's actual products. The company also provided on-site technical training for the customer's operators and process engineers, covering machine operation, parameter settings and routine maintenance, so that personnel could become familiar with the equipment and the correct procedures.

The installation integrates the N-800A smoothly into the customer's production environment, establishing a more controllable material preparation process that can support its manufacturing requirements at any time.
