L-900 Automatic Splicing Machine: Independent X/Y/Z Axis System Enabling High-Quality Control for Micro-Component Splicing
Nov 26, 2025
In the SMT splicing process, traditional approaches often stop at the physical connection of carrier tapes, while the quality parameters of the components themselves can only be detected later during placement or testing stages. The Youngpool Technology L-900 Automatic Splicing Machine, equipped with an optional LCR measurement system, shifts quality control upstream—thanks to its core foundation: a precisely engineered X, Y, and Z independent axis motion system that enables highly accurate measurement and control.
The L-900 Automatic Splicing Machine's measurement system utilizes precise X and Y axis movements to ensure the probe accurately aligns with the center of the two pads of the component under test, achieving a repeat positioning accuracy of ±0.01 mm. This precision is essential for handling components as small as 01005, where even the slightest misalignment could lead to measurement failure. The independently controlled Z axis adds a sense of “tactile intelligence” to the process. Instead of the probe simply pressing down onto the component, the Z axis drives it to make controlled contact with adjustable force and stroke. This soft-touch approach prevents damage or displacement of micro-components caused by excessive pressure, while ensuring a stable and reliable test connection.
This three-axis coordinated design provides exceptional testing flexibility. The system can dynamically adjust test paths and contact strategies according to different component sizes and tape pitches, achieving adaptive “probe form variation” for precise measurement. As a result, it delivers a measurement accuracy of ±0.05%, supporting inductance from 0 μH to 1000 H, capacitance from 0 pF to 20 mF, and resistance from 0 Ω to 20 MΩ. In practical production, this means defective materials can be identified and intercepted as early as the splicing stage, preventing faulty components from entering subsequent processes. The system achieves a testing pass rate of up to 95% for 01005 components, reflecting its capability for stable, high-precision quality inspection.
The L-900 Automatic Splicing Machine's LCR measurement system embodies a core principle: true precision arises from fine control and coordinated motion across every axis. Far beyond a conventional splicing tool, it integrates a fully functional precision measurement station directly within the splicing process—establishing an advanced, intelligent front-line quality barrier for the SMT production line.
