As PCB designs continue to trend toward thinner and lighter structures, boards with a thickness below 0.8mm are accounting for an increasing proportion of overall shipments. This evolution places higher demands on depaneling accuracy and stress control. In response, Youngpool Technology has independently developed the LD-4 Laser PCB Depaneling Machine, built around the core capability of “high-precision cutting with zero mechanical stress,” delivering a more stable and flexible depaneling solution.



The LD-4 adopts a galvanometer-based laser scanning architecture and is equipped as standard with a 60W green nanosecond laser, enabling precision cutting without mechanical stress. Cutting accuracy reaches <0.05mm. Compared with conventional router-based depaneling methods, laser processing is a non-contact technique that eliminates physical extrusion and shear forces applied to the PCB. From a process standpoint, this significantly reduces the risk of micro-cracks, latent solder joint fractures, and component stress damage. This is particularly critical for high-density assemblies, narrow-frame designs, and products with stringent structural integrity requirements.

 

From a precision control perspective, a cutting accuracy of <0.05mm ensures superior edge consistency and contour fidelity when processing complex outlines or small-form-factor boards. This contributes to improved overall panel yield and better compatibility in subsequent assembly processes. In addition, the LD-4 supports both inline and offline operating modes. It can be seamlessly integrated into SMT production lines to match takt time requirements or operated independently for prototyping and small-batch production, providing production flexibility while maintaining high precision and low-stress characteristics.

 

As electronic products continue to evolve toward higher integration and greater reliability, depaneling is no longer a simple mechanical separation step but a critical process that directly impacts final product quality.
